Helping Seniors

On Friday September 28, 2007 the CHDC celebrated senior citizens with a "Seasoned Citizen Breakfast" at the Alpha Phi Senior Center on Linden Blvd in Cambria Heights. CHDC President Kevin Jemmott named it "seasoned citizens" because the elders in our community do not show their age. Approximately 100 seniors dined on fried whiting, beef and pork sausage, pancakes, grits, oatmeal, cold cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, beverages and pastries. Reverend Dunlop director of the center said it was a blessing to have so much food and to recognize the seniors in the community. Center member Alethia Greene stated, "CHDC out did themselves this time." referring to the fact that this was the 3rd breakfast they provided to the center this year.
